If prescribed by a doctor, psychological psychotherapy services can be covered by basic health insurance. You can find the corresponding prescription form here.
In cases of psychological difficulties resulting from accidents, accident insurance will cover the costs of psychotherapy upon application. If psychological problems arise as a result of physical or psychological violence, you may apply to your regional victim support office (Opferhilfe) for a contribution toward the costs of psychotherapy.
Psychological services that are not classified as medical treatments—such as psychological counseling, supervision, or coaching—are not covered by basic health insurance. The fee for individual sessions is CHF 200 per 60 minutes and CHF 220 per 60 minutes for couple or group sessions. Billing is calculated in 5-minute increments.
Appointments can be canceled free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled time. For therapy sessions canceled at shorter notice, a cancellation fee of CHF 80 will be charged. These costs are not covered by health insurance.
